Plumbworld
Plumbworld is a UK online retailer that specializes in bathrooms. It is based in Evesham and was founded in 1999 by James and Anita Hickman, with James Hickman serving as CEO. The company operates exclusively online.
From 2006 to 2019, Plumbworld was owned by the Grafton Group. In January 2019, it was bought back by the founders in a management buyout led by James Hickman.
In 2020, Plumbworld reported revenue of £61 million and employed 128 people. The business has won several awards, including Hitwise’s Top Ten Website and the eBay Little to Large Award in 2020. It was also shortlisted for Fastrack 100 Ones to Watch in 2020.
Plumbworld supports charitable work, including Sport Relief, the relaunch of Evesham’s Regal Cinema, and various community projects. It partners with The Heart of England Forest Project to plant more than a million trees. The partnership used 9.11 hectares to plant nearly 10,000 trees in the first year, with similar planting efforts in the following year. The company remains committed to environmental responsibility.
