Perplexisaurus
Perplexisaurus is an extinct mammal-like reptile called a therocephalian therapsid. It lived in what is now Russia during the Middle to Late Permian, about 260 to 252 million years ago. Fossils come from the Urpalov Formation, Vanyushonki section, in the Deltavjatia vjatkensis assemblage zone. The genus was named by L. P. Tatarinov in 1997, with the first species P. foveatus (the type species). A second species, P. lepusculus, was described by M. F. Ivachnenko in 2011, also from Russia.
