Pejo Ćošković
Pejo Ćošković (born 12 April 1952 in Domaljevac near Bosanski Šamac) is a Bosnian medievalist and lecturer in the History Department at the University of Sarajevo. He finished secondary school at the Franciscan Gymnasium in Visoko and graduated in 1978 from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Philosophy. He earned his master's degree in 1986 with a thesis on the Kingdom of Bosnia in the crucial years 1443–1446, and in 1988 he defended his PhD, The structure of the "Bosnian Church" and its role in the 15th century, in Belgrade. In 1989 he completed postdoctoral studies in Rome, Italy, at the University of Rome, Faculty of Literature and Philosophy, Department of Linguistics and Serbo-Croatian Literature.
He has worked at the high school level, the Institute of History, and the Pedagogical Academy in Banja Luka, and at the Miroslav Krleža Institute of Lexicography in Zagreb. In 2002 he was elected assistant professor, and in 2006 associate professor at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, where he teaches medieval Bosnian history. He has participated in many conferences and published in journals such as Prilozi, Istorijski zbornik, Croatica Christiana Periodica, and Radovi. He has written three books, numerous scientific articles and contributions, and about 1,000 encyclopedia entries. His research covers the History of Bosnia in the Middle Ages, the Bosnian Church and its clergy (including Vlatko Tumurlić), the history of the Banja Luka region, the history of Croatia in the Middle Ages, and lexicography.
