Paweł Śpiewak (April 17, 1951 – March 30, 2023) was a Polish sociologist, historian, author and politician. He was born in Warsaw and served as the Director of the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw, and as a Professor of Sociology at the University of Warsaw. He was elected to the Polish Sejm in 2005 as a member of the Civic Platform party, receiving 18,403 votes in Warsaw’s 19th district. He did not run for re-election in 2007. Śpiewak was a Fellow of the Collegium Invisibile. In 2011, he was named Director of the Jewish Historical Institute by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. He was the son of writers Anna Kamieńska and Jan Śpiewak. He died on March 30, 2023, at age 71.
