Pavol Regenda
Pavol Regenda is a Slovak professional ice hockey winger who plays for the San Jose Sharks in the NHL. He was born on December 7, 1999, in Michalovce, Slovakia. He is 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 212 pounds, shoots left, and has played for Slovakia’s national team, earning a bronze medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Career highlights
- 2021–22: Played for HK Dukla Michalovce in Slovakia, scoring 15 goals and 24 assists in 43 games; was the top scorer in the league among players 22 and under.
- May–June 2022: Initially signed with BK Mladá Boleslav in the Czech Extraliga, but after strong performances at the World Championships, he left that deal and signed with the Anaheim Ducks on a two-year, two-way contract starting in 2022–23.
- 2022–23: Began with the Ducks, then was assigned to the San Diego Gulls (AHL). He scored his first NHL goal on November 9, 2022, against the Minnesota Wild. Ended the season with 14 NHL games, 1 goal, 3 points.
- 2023–24: Started in the Ducks’ system, spent time with the Gulls, and was recalled to the NHL in March 2024, making several appearances before being reassigned.
- July 5, 2024: Signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Ducks for 2024–25; started the season with the Gulls.
- January 22, 2025: Traded to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for forward Justin Bailey. July 2025: Signed a one-year contract extension with the Sharks.
- January 3, 2026: Scored his first NHL hat trick in a 7–3 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
