Denny Mundee, full name Dennis William John Mundee, was born on 10 October 1968 in Swindon, England. He was a versatile footballer who could play in several positions and is remembered by Brentford fans for his "The Twiddle" move, a step-over trick that became a cult moment.

He started in Swindon, playing for the town’s schoolboy team. He turned down a Bournemouth apprenticeship to stay closer to home and joined Queens Park Rangers as a youth, but he never made a first-team appearance for them. He then signed for Swindon Town as a professional in 1986, though he did not appear in league matches for them, before moving to Salisbury in non-league football.

In 1988 Mundee joined Bournemouth. During his time there he spent short spells on loan at Weymouth, Yeovil Town and Torquay United. He made his professional debut in late 1988-89 and over five years at Bournemouth he played in many positions and scored 12 goals.

In August 1993 he joined Brentford on non-contract terms. He began as a right back but soon started playing up front after a training-ground incident. In January 1994 he scored a hat-trick against Bristol Rovers and finished the 1993-94 season as one of Brentford’s top scorers with 13 goals. In the following season he played more, and Brentford reached the playoffs, losing to Huddersfield Town in a shootout where Mundee missed a late penalty.

In 1995 Mundee had a contract dispute and was released in October. He then signed for Brighton & Hove Albion on a short-term deal in October 1995, helping the club during a difficult period and making 62 appearances with eight goals before leaving in December 1997.

He then moved to Dorchester Town briefly and later had spells with Salisbury City, Newport (IOW), Swindon Supermarine, Clevedon Town and Bath City in non-league football. Mundee grew up in Swindon and has footballing brothers Barry and Brian. By 2005 he was working as an exterior wall coating contractor alongside his brother Brian.
