Glyn Tarell is a valley and community in Powys, Wales, inside the Brecon Beacons National Park. It sits at the northern edge of the Brecon Beacons and runs along the River Tarell, with the A470 road passing through the valley. The Taff Trail also goes through the area.

The community covers a large, sparsely populated area and extends south to include the highest part of the River Taff and the Beacons Reservoir. Its northern boundary is formed by the River Usk. Pen y Fan, the Brecon Beacons’ highest peak at 886 metres, lies at the eastern edge of the community. The main villages are Libanus and Llanspyddid.

In 2011, the population was 633, with about 15% able to speak Welsh. Glyn Tarell is about 32 miles from Cardiff and 146 miles from London. The community has a council of up to nine elected or co-opted members. It is part of the Talybont-on-Usk electoral ward for Powys County Council, which elects one councillor.
