Paul John (born 25 January 1970 in Pontypridd) is a Welsh rugby union coach and former player. He played as a scrum-half and earned 10 caps for Wales, debuting against Tonga in 1994. At club level he played for Cardiff RFC and Pontypridd RFC, serving as captain, and also played for Llantwit Fardre Cardiff from 1986 to 1991. He retired from playing in 2005.

As a coach, John was Pontypridd's head coach until 2010 and also worked as an assistant coach there. He was the head coach of the Wales Sevens team, leading them to victory at the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens. In January 2014 he was appointed backs coach for Cardiff Blues.

Before becoming a full-time coach with the Wales Rugby Union National Academy, he taught physical education at Bryn Celynnog Comprehensive School in Beddau and at Coedylan Comprehensive School in Cilfynydd. He later coached the Hong Kong Sevens team.

At the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Hong Kong won all their matches, including a 14–0 win over Japan, and took the gold medal in rugby sevens under his guidance.
