Kispus is a 1956 Danish romantic comedy written and directed by Erik Balling, starring Helle Virkner and Henning Moritzen. It was the first Danish feature film filmed in color. The story follows Eva, a working-class seamstress who is given a fashionable gown by an eccentric designer, Marcel. He bets that if Eva wears the dress to a movie premiere, she will be accepted by high society. Eva’s appearance proves him right and she catches the eye of Jakob, a young aristocrat who is secretly a poor student and chauffeur. Jakob is not what he seems, either. After a series of misunderstandings, love wins over snobbery and deception. The film runs 105 minutes and is in Danish.
