Patty Spivot

Patty Spivot is Patricia “Patty” Spivot, a DC Comics character created by writer Cary Bates and artist Irv Novick. She first appeared in DC Special Series #1 in 1977 and is a friend and ally of the Flash (Barry Allen).

In the comics
- Patty starts as Barry’s lab assistant and later becomes the Central City Police Department’s full-time forensic-blood analyst.
- She becomes the hero Hot Pursuit after taking the former Hot Pursuit’s gear, using a Cosmic Motorcycle that can travel through time.
- Patty is transported to the year 3011, where Brainiac captures her. She helps Bart Allen (Kid Flash) escape, and together they work to fix the timeline.
- She helps locate the Speed Force tank, sacrifices herself by smashing the tank to save Bart, and is killed as Brainiac takes her body. Bart vows to try to save her.
- In The New 52 reboot (2011), Barry ends up in a relationship with Patty temporarily, but after a Future Flash incident, their romance ends and she is not seen again in that era of the comics.

On TV
- In The CW’s The Flash (season 2), Patty is portrayed as a Central City Police Department detective by Shantel VanSanten. She is a friend and love interest-hopeful for Barry.

In film
- Patty appears in the DC Extended Universe film The Flash, played by Saoirse-Monica Jackson.
