Patrick DesRochers
Patrick Joseph DesRochers (born October 27, 1979) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He was born in Penetanguishene, Ontario, and is 6 ft 3 in tall, weighing 209 lb, with a left-catching glove.
Drafted 14th overall in 1998 by the Phoenix Coyotes, DesRochers played 11 games in the NHL with the Phoenix Coyotes and the Carolina Hurricanes from 2001 to 2003. The rest of his career, from 1999 to 2013, was spent mainly in the minor leagues or in Europe.
In junior hockey, he played for the Sarnia Sting and Kingston Frontenacs in the Ontario Hockey League. In the American Hockey League, he spent time with the Springfield Falcons (where he is the Falcons’ career leader in games played by a goaltender), the Lowell Lock Monsters, and the San Antonio Rampage.
DesRochers moved to Europe before the 2006–07 season, signing with ETC Crimmitschau. He played for the Augsburger Panther in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga in 2007–08 but became a free agent after the club signed another German goalie. On April 12, 2008, he was introduced as the new goaltender for Vålerenga in Norway. He retired from professional hockey in 2013.
