Patrick Ayo Akinyelure

Patrick Ayo Akinyelure is a Nigerian banker and politician who serves as the National Senator for Ondo Central, Ondo State. He took office in June 2019 and is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Born in Idanre, he was Group Executive Chairman of the Allover Group, a microfinance lender, from 1994 to 2010 and is a licensed tax practitioner with the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. Akinyelure first won a Senate seat in 2011 while running as a Labour Party candidate, defeating PDP's Gbenga Ogunniya after an election petition. He had previously run for the Ondo South seat in 2007. In the 2011 election he won with 113,292 votes to Ogunniya's 41,783.
