Paola Tovaglia
Paola Tovaglia (9 April 1965 – 6 April 1994) was an Italian children's TV presenter, voice actress and singer. Born in Milan, she became best known for hosting the children’s show Ciao Ciao, which she joined in 1989. She also worked with the comedy rock band Elio e le Storie Tese. She used the stage names Paola Maralli and Peev Agliato, chosen from the surnames of her grandmothers.
As a voice actress, she dubbed characters in many cartoons, including Lynn Russell in Lady!!, Lickety Split in My Little Pony, Bianca Dupree in Beverly Hills Teens, and roles in the anime Aishite Knight. She sang many songs on Ciao Ciao. Early on, she played guitar and auditioned for talent shows on TV.
She died in Milan from brain cancer on 6 April 1994, just three days before her 29th birthday. She is buried at the Montemurlo cemetery. The band Elio e le Storie Tese dedicated their album İtalyan, rum casusu çikti to her memory.
