Star of the Seas is a large cruise ship operated by Royal Caribbean International. It is the second ship in the Icon class, built by Meyer Turku in Finland. The ship entered service in August 2025 and is one of the largest cruise ships in the world, tied for the top spot with its sister ships at 248,663 gross tons.

The ship can carry about 5,610 guests in double occupancy (up to around 7,600 at full capacity) and has a crew of about 2,350. It measures 364.8 meters in length, 48.48 meters in width and 9.4 meters in draft, with 20 decks.

Star of the Seas is powered by six dual-fuel generators that can run on liquefied natural gas (LNG). These power three Azipod thrusters (each 20 MW) and five bow thrusters, giving it strong, flexible propulsion.

On board, there are more than 40 restaurants and bars spread across eight neighborhoods: the Royal Promenade, Central Park, Chill Island, Thrill Island, AquaDome, Surfside, Hideaway, and a dedicated area for suites. The ship also features seven pools and six waterslides.

Entertainment options include Back to the Future: The Musical in the Royal Theater, the Sol ice-skating show in Absolute Zero, and the Torque circus performance in the AquaTheater.

Construction and service timeline: steel-cutting began on February 15, 2023; the keel was laid on December 15, 2023; the ship was floated out on September 25, 2024; sea trials took place in spring 2025; it was delivered in July 2025 and started service on August 16, 2025.

Home port is Port Canaveral, Florida, and the ship sails under the Bahamas flag (Nassau). The price was about €1.74 billion.
