Pallada (tallship)
Pallada is a Russian tall ship and a three-masted frigate, about 108.6 meters (356.3 feet) long. It was designed by Polish naval architect Zygmunt Choreń. The ship is often described as the world’s fastest sailing ship, with an official speed record of 18.7 knots in Sail Training International Class A. There is a claim that Pallada reached 18.8 knots during its 2007–2008 circumnavigation, but this speed is not officially recognized. Pallada arrived in Kodiak, Alaska, on July 20, 2011, where hundreds of people welcomed it along the waterfront. The Kodiak stop was the first on a North Pacific tour.
