Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026
Moldova will compete in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with the song “Viva, Moldova!” by Satoshi, written by Vlad Sabajuc. The Moldovan broadcaster TRM organized Finala națională 2026 to choose the entry. After withdrawing from Eurovision 2025, TRM confirmed Moldova’s participation in 2026 on 3 November 2025 and announced a new national selection format.
The national final was held at the Chișinău Arena on 17 January 2026. It was hosted by Daniela Crudu and Ion Jalbă, with Alisa Tanas and Bogdan Nigai in the green room. Submissions were open from 7 November to 7 December 2025. 37 eligible entries were received, and 34 performed in the live auditions on 16 December. Sixteen acts advanced to the final, where “Viva, Moldova!” won through a mix of online public voting, a national jury, and an international jury.
Moldova has participated in Eurovision 19 times since 2005. Its best result is 3rd place in 2017 with SunStroke Project’s “Hey, Mamma!” Moldova has had four top-ten finishes: 6th in 2005 with “Boonika bate toba” by Zdob și Zdub, 10th in 2007 with “Fight” by Natalia Barbu, 10th in 2018 with “My Lucky Day” by DoReDoS, and 7th in 2022 with “Trenulețul” by Zdob și Zdub and the Advahov Brothers.
The final featured guest performances from former Eurovision entrants such as Paula Seling, Efendi, and Jamala, along with many past Moldovan participants celebrating Moldova’s 20th appearance. The show was broadcast on Moldova 1, Radio Moldova Muzical, and online via moldova1.md and TRM’s social pages.
