PNC Tower
PNC Tower is a 40-story office skyscraper at 101 South Fifth Street in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. Completed in 1972, it rises about 512 feet tall and was Louisville’s tallest building for two decades. It was originally called the First National Tower, then renamed National City Tower after First National Bank was bought; it became PNC Tower in 2017. The building was designed by Harrison & Abramovitz in a style inspired by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and is the only Louisville project by the firm. The Annex, a reinforced concrete section, houses the garage, ground-floor retail, and top-floor offices. In January 2026, Yum! Brands announced a 10-year lease to use part of the tower as its new headquarters, investing about $12 million to renovate five floors and moving about 550 employees there in late 2026. The tower is leased by Jones Lang LaSalle, managed by Cushman & Wakefield, and owned by DB Oak Barrel LLC. Current tenants include PNC Bank Louisville, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis Louisville Branch, and several law and consulting firms such as Bingham Greenebaum Doll, Dinsmore & Shohl, and Fultz Maddox Dickens.
