Ottawa Sharpshooters
The Ottawa Sharpshooters were a junior ice hockey team from Almonte, Ontario. They began in 2016 as the Almonte Jr Sharpshooters, playing in the Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League (CPJHL) as part of the Ottawa Sharpshooters youth organization. They played home games at the Almonte & District Community Centre and wore maroon, black, and white. Angelo Gallo served as general manager and Charles Mills as head coach.
In the 2016–17 season, they finished first in the CPJHL’s East Division and won the league playoff title, defeating Muskoka Wild 4–3 in overtime.
After that season, the organization underwent changes and the team later joined the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League (GMHL) as the Ottawa Sharpshooters for the 2018–19 season.
The team folded in January 2020, with reports that the owner could no longer fund the club and the GMHL confirming the folding after the winter break.
