Ormakalundayirikkanam
Ormakalundayirikkanam (Should Have Memories) is a 1995 Indian Malayalam-language political drama directed and written by T. V. Chandran. The film stars Mammootty, Master Nithin, Bharath Gopi, Priyambada Ray, Nedumudi Venu, Cuckoo Parameswaran and Sreenivasan. It depicts the rise of the Communist movement to power in 1957 and the Vimochana Samaram (Liberation Struggle) of 1959. Produced by Salam Karassery for Navadhara Movie Makers, the movie runs 91 minutes. The music is by Johnson, cinematography by Venu, and editing by Venugopal. It released on 29 September 1995.
The film is highly regarded by critics, with Kozhikodan naming it one of the 10 best Malayalam movies of all time. S. R. Ashok Kumar of The Hindu, reviewing at the Indian Panorama section of the International Film Festival of India, said Chandran shows how everyday life and the overall atmosphere are affected by communal passions, political rivalry, and organized violence.
