Oregon Business Development Department
Oregon Business Development Department (OBDD), doing business as Business Oregon, is Oregon’s state government agency that supports the state’s economy and communities. It helps with economic development by offering incentives, financial support, and technical assistance to businesses, nonprofit organizations, industries, and local and regional governments.
The agency is guided by a seven‑member commission appointed by the governor, which sets policies and plans to carry out its mission. That mission is to create, retain, expand, and attract businesses that provide sustainable, living‑wage jobs for Oregonians through public‑private partnerships, leveraged funding, and support for economic opportunities for Oregon companies and entrepreneurs.
In addition, the Oregon Arts Commission receives administrative support from OBDD, and the Oregon Film and Video Office receives direct funding. The headquarters are in Salem, with twelve regional offices across the state.
OBDD is divided into several divisions: Director’s Office; Infrastructure Finance Authority; Division of Business Innovation and Trade Development; Policy & Planning; and the Oregon Arts Commission.
