Margos District
Margos District is one of twelve districts in Huánuco Province, located in the Huánuco region of Peru. The capital is the town of Margos. The district covers an area of 282.53 square kilometers and sits at an elevation of 3,539 meters above sea level. It was founded on September 10, 1906.
As of the 2005 census, about 11,323 people lived in Margos, with a population density of around 40 people per square kilometer. The area is mostly inhabited by people of Quechua descent. In childhood, about 70.9% of residents learned Quechua, while about 28.8% started with Spanish (2007 census).
