The Ohio State University College of Arts and Sciences is one of the university’s 16 colleges and is the largest on campus. It spans several buildings in Columbus and includes 38 departments with more than 80 majors.

Historically, arts and sciences programs were part of a single College of Arts and Sciences. In 1968, it split into five colleges: Arts, Biological Sciences, Humanities, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, and Social and Behavioral Sciences. In 2010, under President E. Gordon Gee, the five colleges were reunified into one College of Arts and Sciences.

The college offers majors in more than 80 disciplines. About half of Ohio State’s credit hours come from this college. It has produced notable scholars, including 5 Churchill Scholars, 5 Goldwater Scholars, 1 Knight-Hennessy Scholar, and 5 Rhodes Scholars.
