Nunavut Court of Appeal (NUCA) is the highest court for appeals in Nunavut. It was established in 1999 and is based in Iqaluit. The court’s judges come automatically from three sources: the Nunavut Court of Justice, the territorial courts of Yukon and the Northwest Territories, and the Court of Appeal of Alberta. If a case from NUCA is appealed again, it goes to the Supreme Court of Canada. NUCA hears appeals from the Nunavut Court of Justice. The Chief Justice is Ritu Khullar (since 2022), who also serves as Chief Justice of Alberta. Website:nunavutcourts.ca/nunavut-court-of-appeal
