Sand Creek (Wyoming)
Sand Creek is a stream that starts in the Laramie Mountains in Colorado and flows north into Wyoming, where it joins the Laramie River. The border area where Sand Creek crosses into Wyoming has been designated a National Natural Landmark since 1984. It is known for its striking cross-bedded sandstone and topple blocks, among the best examples in North America. The confluence with the Laramie River sits at about 7,185 feet above sea level.
