Richard Crawshay (fencer)

Richard Oakes Crawshay (12 April 1882 – 31 January 1953) was a British fencer who competed in the team sabre event at the 1912 Summer Olympics. Born in Kensington, London, he came from the Crawshay family, historically linked to the Cyfarthfa Ironworks in Merthyr Tydfil. He was educated at Harrow and served as a Lieutenant in the Grenadier Guards. In 1907 he married Ann Threlfall Baines; they divorced in 1915 and had no children. He died aged 70.
