North Fork Loggers Jamboree
Mid-Sierra Loggers Jamboree (also known as the North Fork Loggers Jamboree) is an annual lumberjack sports festival in North Fork, California. It began in 1959 and is held at the North Fork Recreation Center, organized by the North Fork Boosters Club to support the Recreation Center.
The jamboree takes place the weekend after the Fourth of July and runs for two days. On Saturday there is an Amateur/Pro-Am program, while Sunday features the Professional program. In Pro-Am, one experienced competitor teams up with an amateur; most events are timed and winners are decided by points. Sunday’s events crown the All-Around (Top Logger) champion.
The weekend also includes a Main Street parade, the Wood Chopper’s Ball (Saturday night), a Lions Club pancake breakfast, and various food and craft vendors. Women compete in dedicated events and in co-ed contests, celebrating North Fork’s logging heritage.
Nate Hodges, a North Fork native, has won the All-Around title at the jamboree many times and later became the 2024 STIHL Timbersports Individual World Champion.
Local media describe the jamboree as a great festival that honors the area’s logging heritage and brings together competitors and volunteers. In 2025, the event was the 65th annual jamboree.
