2024 Uruguayan Segunda División season (easy summary)

The 2024 season was the 117th edition of Uruguay’s second division, named 100 Años del Club Oriental. It ran from 16 March to 12 December 2024 with 14 clubs competing. The top two teams earned direct promotion to the Primera División, and the winner of a promotion playoff also earned promotion. Sud América and Cooper were relegated to the third tier.

The season began with the Torneo Competencia (Héctor Peri), where the 14 teams were split into two groups of seven. The group winners played a final, and the champion earned a berth to the promotion playoffs. The Torneo Competencia was reinstated after a vote before the season. In the regular stage, each team played the others twice (26 matches), and teams carried over their Torneo Competencia results.
