2016–17 BCHL season
The 2016–17 BCHL season was the league’s 55th. Seventeen teams from the Interior, Island and Mainland divisions played a 58-game regular season, from September 9, 2016 to February 26, 2017. The season opened with the BCHL Showcase in Chilliwack, September 21–25, 2016. In March, the top teams competed for the Fred Page Cup, the BCHL championship. The Penticton Vees won the Fred Page Cup and earned a berth in the Western Canada Cup, held in Penticton. The Chilliwack Chiefs, as the BCHL runner-up, also advanced to the Western Canada Cup to represent the league. The Western Canada Cup determined who would move on to the Royal Bank Cup, the national Junior A championship, in Cobourg, Ontario.
