Carex siccata
Carex siccata, commonly known as dryspike sedge, is a grass-like plant in the sedge family native to North America. Its official scientific name is Carex siccata (Dewey), and it is considered endangered in New Jersey.
Taxonomic names have varied over time. Some sources treat Carex foenea as the same species as C. siccata, while others list Carex foenea as a separate species. The World Checklist of Selected Plant Families treats C. foenea as a separate species with two synonyms, and only two varieties are considered synonyms of C. siccata by WCSP. Examples of former or related names include Carex foenea, Carex adusta var. argyrantha, and Carex adusta var. sparsiflora.
