Frangula azorica
Frangula azorica is a tall, semi-deciduous shrub or small tree in the buckthorn family (Rhamnaceae). It is native only to the Azores, Portugal. Fossil evidence suggests it once occurred in Madeira as well, but it is extinct there. The species is listed as Least Concern by the IUCN, though it faces threats from habitat loss.
