Naruto: Shippuden season 18
Naruto: Shippuden Season 18, titled The Fourth Great Ninja War: Obito Uchiha, has 21 episodes. It continues Part II and follows the ninja alliance as they fight Obito Uchiha in the Fourth Great Ninja War. The episodes were directed by Hayato Date and produced by Pierrot and TV Tokyo. It originally aired in Japan from August 21 to December 25, 2014, and made its English TV debut on Adult Swim’s Toonami from January 30 to June 5, 2022. A DVD box set was released on April 1, 2015, under the title The Fourth Great Ninja War: Obito Uchiha.
Music for the season includes two openings and two endings. The openings are "Guren" by Does (used through episode 379) and "Silhouette" by Kana-Boon (from episode 380 onward). The endings are "Never Change" by Shun feat. Lyu:Lyu (used through episode 379) and "Dame Dame da" by Shiori Tomita (from episode 380 onward).
Plot highlights: Early in the arc, Orochimaru experiments with lightning to create a robotic being. He and Kabuto must evacuate when the robot goes berserk. Itachi and Kisame later find the robot, which Pain repairs before ordering Itachi to use it to capture Naruto. The robot is sent to Konoha, where it hunts Naruto, attacks villagers, and defeats Team Guy. Naruto arrives to stop the threat, and his training helps him fight back. The robot’s cloak is ripped away, revealing a mechanical duplicate of Naruto named Mecha-Naruto. Mecha-Naruto begins draining Naruto’s Nine-Tails chakra, weakening him, until Kakashi and Yamato intervene, with Kakashi distracting the robot using Lightning Blade and Yamato saving Naruto.
