Varisu is the Tamil-language soundtrack for the 2022 film Varisu, composed by S. Thaman for director Vamshi Paidipally and starring Vijay. The Tamil album has five songs with lyrics by Vivek; the Telugu dubbed version Vaarasudu uses Ramajogayya Sastry, and the Hindi dubbed version features Nishant Singh, Raqueeb Alam, and Vaibhav Joshi.

Release and singles
- The soundtrack was released on 24 December 2022 by T-Series.
- Three singles were released ahead of the album: “Ranjithame” (5 November 2022), “Thee Thalapathy” (4 December 2022), and “Soul of Varisu” (20 December 2022).
- “Ranjithame” features Vijay on vocals with M. M. Manasi; the Telugu version released on 30 November 2022.
- “Thee Thalapathy” is sung by Silambarasan.
- “Soul of Varisu,” a mother‑son ballad sung by K. S. Chithra, also had a Telugu version titled “Soul of Vaarasudu.” A bonus track heard in the film, “Celebration of Varisu,” followed on 13 January 2023.

Production notes
- This was Thaman’s first collaboration with Vijay; he had previously been linked to A. R. Murugadoss for the actor’s 65th film, but that project changed.
- Varisu marked Thaman’s second collaboration with director Vamshi Paidipally, after Brindavanam (2010).
- Music recordings began in April 2022, with Thaman saying several songs were completed by June and the project would feature about five songs across different genres. A folk kuthu number was recorded in October 2022. Sid Sriram recorded a track that was not used, and Anirudh Ravichander was rumored to sing another song.
- T-Series acquired the film’s music rights for ₹10 crore, a high amount for a Tamil film.
- The audio launch took place at Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium on 24 December 2022, attended by thousands. Live performances included songs yet to be released, such as “Jimikki Ponnu” and “Vaa Thalaiva.”

Reception
- The singles and overall soundtrack received positive notes from several outlets, with praise for energy, tribute elements, and Thaman’s style.
- “Soul of Varisu” topped Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs chart for the week of 22 December 2022, the first South Indian song to achieve that feat.

Film score
- A separate Varisu film score, also by S. Thaman, was released on 17 August 2023, running about 57 minutes in Tamil.
