NGC 5676
NGC 5676 is an unbarred spiral galaxy in the Boötes constellation, about 100 million light-years from Earth. It looks uneven: the southern spiral arms are chaotic and stretch farther from the center, while the northern arms are clearer and more tightly wound. This patchy appearance makes it a flocculent galaxy. The northern part of the disk hosts a very bright region of star formation, unusually intense and the strongest infrared source in the disk. NGC 5676 is paired with its neighbor NGC 5660.
