News at Twelve is a 1988 British children's comedy TV show. It ran for one series of six episodes on ITV, produced by Central Independent Television. The show was written by Cliff Francis and Jeremy Sinclair under the pen name Francis Sinclair, and directed by Alex Kirby. It follows 12-year-old Kevin Doyle (Ewan Phillips) as he hosts nightly “news bulletins” about his life and sometimes his imagination, with his basset hound Baxter as a regular feature. The series stars Patrick Malahide, Sheila Fearn, Julia Foster, Liz May Brice (credited as Lisa Brice), Mark Billingham, Toni Collier and Ewan Phillips. The title comes from Kevin’s age, not the time the show aired. It was broadcast from 22 February to 28 March 1988. A US pilot was made in 1991 by NBC with Danny Gerard and Sarah Melici, but it was never shown.
