Myrcia attenuata is a tree in the myrtle family that is native to French Guiana. It was first described in 2015, and the name refers to the unusual shape of the base of its fruit. The tree grows from about 4 to 25 meters tall. Its leaves reach up to 14.7 cm long and 4.6 cm wide. The fruit is up to 8 mm in diameter. So far, it has been found in three locations in French Guiana, and scientists think it may occur in more places as well.
