My Kind of Country is the eighth studio album by American country singer Reba McEntire. It was released October 15, 1984, and recorded in July 1984 at The Mill in Nashville, TN. The album runs 28 minutes and 14 seconds and was produced by Harold Shedd for MCA Records.

This was McEntire’s second album for MCA. It reached number 13 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart. Two singles from the album hit number 1 on the Country Singles chart: How Blue (released September 1984) and Somebody Should Leave (January 1985).

The song It’s Not Over (If I’m Not Over You) was first recorded by Vern Gosdin in 1982, and later recorded by Mark Chesnutt on his 1992 album Longnecks & Short Stories, with backing vocals from Alison Krauss and Vince Gill.

In Reba’s discography, this album comes after Just a Little Love (1984) and before The Best of Reba McEntire (1985).
