Daphne retusa is a flowering plant in the Thymelaeaceae family. It grows from the Himalayas westwards to western and central China and south to Myanmar. It was first described in 1892 by William Hemsley.

Description:
- It grows at around or below 3,900 meters in altitude.
- It is about 0.7 to 1.5 meters tall.
- It has dark green leaves, light pink flowers, and red fruit.

Taxonomy:
- Named by William Hemsley in 1892.
- Some sources treated it as a synonym of Daphne tangutica, but Plants of the World Online lists it as a separate species (as of 2025).

Cultivation:
- Under the name Daphne tangutica Retusa Group, it has earned the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit.
