Mountain lacebark
Mountain lacebark is the name for two native New Zealand trees in the mallow family. Both trees grow in the hills and mountains of New Zealand. They are known for their distinctive lace-like bark that peels away in thin, delicate pieces. Although they look similar, the two trees are different species with their own leaves and growth habits. They are related to other mallows, such as hibiscus, and are part of New Zealand’s native forests.
