Mount Alpha Centauri
Mount Alpha Centauri is a mountain in southeastern British Columbia, Canada. It rises to 3,102 metres (10,177 feet) and is part of the Purcell Mountains in the Kootenay Land District. The peak sits near Howser Creek and is shown on topographic map NTS 82K10. Its coordinates are 50°36′22″N 116°31′54″W.
It was first climbed in 1969 by K. Rinehart, M. and Robert C. West. Robert West named the peak in 1969, in association with North Star Peak, because Alpha Centauri lies almost opposite the North Star.
