Mont Xalibu is a mountain in Quebec, Canada. It stands 1,120 metres (3,670 feet) high and is one of the highest peaks in the Notre Dame Mountains, inside the Chic-Choc range. It’s inside Gaspésie National Park, near the community of Mont-Albert, about 40 kilometres southeast of Sainte-Anne-des-Monts and about 450 kilometres northeast of Quebec City.

The mountain sits on the northern Gaspé Peninsula. Its summit rests on a Devonian-era granite that intruded into older sedimentary rocks around 400 million years ago. The southern side forms part of the Lac aux Américains glacial cirque.

Mont Xalibu is home to woodland caribou, the last herd south of the St. Lawrence River. Because of their protection, winter visits to the area are strictly forbidden.

The best time to climb is when there is no snow, usually from late June to late September. You can reach the summit via the International Appalachian Trail from Lac aux Américains to the west or from Mont Jacques-Cartier to the east. A shuttle from Mont Albert can shorten the hike.

There is no weather station at the summit; nearby stations provide climate information. Winds generally come from the west. At nearby Mount Albert, average winds are about 24 km/h with gusts up to 250 km/h.

Mont Xalibu is part of Gaspésie National Park, near the Chic-Chocs Wildlife Reserve.
