Len Tongue
Len Tongue (Leonard William Tongue) was a Welsh runner born on 17 January 1912 in Newport, Wales. He competed in middle-distance and cross-country for Newport Harriers, where his brother Harold Robinson Tongue was also a runner. He won the 1933 Welsh junior cross-country championship. At the 1934 Welsh national championships in Newport, he won the 3 miles title and went on to represent Wales in the 3 miles at the 1934 British Empire Games (now the Commonwealth Games). In 1935 he again won the Welsh 3 miles title. A foot injury later reduced his racing, and in October 1936 he took a job in Glasgow with John Brown & Company. Date of death is unknown.
