Mitch Brown (rugby league)
Mitch Brown (Mitchell Ronald Edwin Brown) was born on 7 November 1987 in Sutherland, New South Wales. He is 188 cm tall and weighed about 95 kg during his playing days. Brown played mainly on the wing but could also fill in at centre and fullback.
He began his rugby league journey with the Gymea Gorillas, went to Endeavour Sports High School, and represented the Australian Schoolboys in 2005. He made his NRL debut with the Cronulla Sharks in 2006, starting on the wing and moving to fullback in 2007 when injuries opened up a spot. By 2009 he was often playing at fullback.
In 2010 Brown joined the Wests Tigers, where he showed versatility across the back line, including wing, centre and fullback. He spent 2011 playing in multiple back positions. A knee ACL injury limited him in 2012, and he then joined the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs for 2013–14. In 2013 he had a strong season, scoring 12 tries in 24 appearances, and he played in the 2014 Grand Final, which Canterbury lost to South Sydney.
Brown returned to Cronulla in 2015 but had limited game time. Partway through 2016 he moved to England to play for Leigh Centurions, before signing with Warrington Wolves for 2017–2018. He also earned a NSW Residents representative cap in 2015. Brown finished his professional rugby league career after the 2018 season with Warrington.
