Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2010
Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2010 was the 55th edition of the pageant. It was held on November 12, 2009, at the Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Mariana Vicente from Río Grande won the crown, and she later finished in the Top 10 at Miss Universe 2010. She was crowned by Mayra Matos.
Before the final, eight casting calls were held across Puerto Rico from May 9 to June 28, 2009. More than 60 women were considered as pre-contestants, and 40 became official contestants announced on July 11, 2009 in San Juan. On the final night, five contestants received Special Awards.
Buscando La Mas Bella was an interactive reality show featuring the 40 contestants. Each week, viewers could vote by text to help a contestant reach the Top 20; the other 10 finalists were chosen in the preliminaries by a panel of experts. The show aired Sundays on Telemundo from August 30 to October 29, hosted by Desiree Lowry, the national director and former Miss Puerto Rico 1995. The judging panel included Miss Universe 2006 Zuleyka Rivera, Miss Puerto Rico 2000 Zoribel Fonalledas, fashion designer Luis Antonio, and actor Albert Rodríguez.
