Bombergirl is a spin-off of the Bomberman series by Konami. It’s a MOBA where two teams of four players compete in arcade arenas to destroy the other team’s base by placing bombs and using character abilities. The game features cute, anime-style female characters, each with unique powers, and players can level up during a match to unlock special attacks like beam swords or flaming swords. Examples of abilities include Shiro placing many bombs, Momoko creating blocks, Oren moving quickly, and Emera using ranged attacks.

The roster includes Konami crossover characters, such as Grim Aloe from Quiz Magic Academy and Sephia Belmont inspired by Castlevania. The arcade version launched in Japan on August 30, 2018, and a Windows version followed on December 22, 2021. The Windows version moved from pay-to-play to free-to-play in September 2022. Bombergirl was first shown at the Japan Amusement Expo in February 2017 as an arcade-exclusive title, aiming to be fun to watch as well as easy to play. Reception noted its eye-catching visuals and cute style, with some reviewers commenting on its distinctive look.
