Minister of Tourism and Culture (The Gambia)
The Minister of Tourism and Culture of The Gambia leads the Ministry of Tourism and Culture (MOTC). The current minister is Hamat Bah, in office since 1 February 2017, appointed by the President.
The minister is responsible for policy and oversight of the tourism sector and related government bodies, including the Gambia Tourism Authority, the National Council for Arts and Culture, Arch 22, and the Gambia Hotel School. The MOTC guides government policies on tourism and culture.
In Banjul and regional offices, the minister is supported by civil servants. The Permanent Secretary acts as the chief adviser and accounting officer, and the Deputy Permanent Secretary serves as the chief of staff of the ministry.
