Min opera
Min opera, also known as Fuzhou drama or Fuzhou opera, is a major traditional theater form from Fujian Province in China. It is very popular in Fuzhou and nearby areas where the Fuzhou dialect is spoken, and also among communities in Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei. Min opera has a history of more than 400 years and grew a lot in the early 20th century. A regional type called Beilu opera (Luantan) is popular in Shouning County, in the eastern Min region near Zhejiang.
