Milky tree frog
Milky tree frog
The milky tree frog is a group of frogs living in Mexico, Central America, Ecuador, and Venezuela. It might be one species or several.
What it is called scientifically can be tricky. Most sources use Trachycephalus vermiculatus as the name, sometimes written as Trachycephalus "vermiculatus" with quotation marks. This includes frogs that scientists once grouped with Trachycephalus typhonius but later decided were not the same species.
Over the years these frogs have had many different scientific names (synonyms).
They go by many common names too, such as veined tree frog, common tree frog, warty tree frog, marbled tree frog, vein-eyed glue frog, Amazon tree frog, and pepper tree frog.
