Mikaël Roche
Mikaël Roche, born 24 December 1982 in Papeete, Tahiti, is a goalkeeper who plays for A.S. Central Sport and the Tahiti national team. He began with AS Jeunes Tahitiens and then moved to France to play for AS Monaco B, ROS Menton, and US Marseille Endoume. He returned to Tahiti in 2006, played for AS Jeunes Tahitiens, then AS Dragon (winning the Tahiti league in 2011–12), followed by A.S. Tefana from 2014 to 2018, and joined A.S. Central Sport in 2018. He is also a physical education teacher.
Roche made his Tahiti debut in 2011 and was the starting goalkeeper at the 2012 OFC Nations Cup, which Tahiti won, though he later lost the starting spot to Xavier Samin. He is best known for the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, where he conceded ten goals against Spain but earned praise from Brazilian fans and even traded shirts with Pepe Reina after the match.
