Midnight Special (Jimmy Smith album)
Midnight Special is a jazz studio album by American organist Jimmy Smith. It was recorded on April 25, 1960 at Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, and released in November 1961 on Blue Note Records (BST 84078). The album, produced by Alfred Lion, runs about 36 minutes. It came from the same recording session as Back at the Chicken Shack (1960). AllMusic’s Scott Yanow calls it highly recommended.
