Michael Lucero (sculptor)
Michael Lucero (born 1953) is an American ceramics artist and sculptor who often works in series and uses bright colors. He was born in Tracy, California. He earned a BA from Humboldt State University in 1975 and an MFA from the University of Washington in Seattle. He lives in Tennessee. His recent work focuses on abstract, small figures glazed in his signature bright colors and drawings. Lucero’s sculptures are in the permanent collections of the American Craft Museum (New York), the Carnegie Museum of Art (Pittsburgh), and the Mint Museum (Charlotte).
